God's voice

6:23 PM

I have a lot of questions in my mind. I really try hard to get the answer I am seeking. I ask a preacher, ask my spiritual leader yet I am not satisfied. I am really wondering why God seems so silence. One morning while I was reading my bible, I found that God's actually has already given me the answer. I am the one who not listening.

It is said in 1 Kings 19:11-13 :

The Lord Appears to Elijah
The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

The point I learnt is the quietness. I am too busy to find the answer. I rely on my own understanding, while I know that God ask me not to rely on my understanding (psalm 3:5). Not like what I thought, God speaks in a gentle whisper. To hear His voice, no other way but be still in silence.

So many times I am trapped in my routines, I am busy with my daily activity. I pray and expect God to answer, but I never take a special quiet moment with Him. A moment where I sit down in His feet, in the silence where He can say what He is going to say, the answer I am longing for.
